SPOUSAL SUPPORT AND WELL-BEING OF MARRIED PEOPLE IN GBERIGBE COMMUNITY IKORODU AREA
ABSTRACT
This study examines the relationship between spousal support and the well-being of married individuals in the Gberigbe Community, Ikorodu Area. It aims to identify how emotional, financial, and practical support from spouses influences the overall physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of married people. Using a mixed-method approach, data were collected through surveys and interviews from a sample of married individuals within the community. The findings reveal that higher levels of spousal support correlate with improved well-being, with emotional support being the most significant predictor of marital satisfaction. The study concludes by recommending strategies for fostering stronger spousal support systems to enhance the well-being of married couples. These findings have important implications for marital counseling and community interventions aimed at improving family relationships in Gberigbe.
