A PERFORMANCE EVALUATION SYSTEM OF PROCESS CONTROL
Abstract. In this work we present a system for evaluating, comparing and reporting the perfomance of different commercial controller in real time. The system has a test bench with four real processes that cover a wide range of industrial processes and allow analysis of single and multivariable controllers. On the basis of the acquisition and processing of the information in real time, the system assist the operator to supervise the process and in to take decisions. So far, a series of test and criteria for evaluating the perfomances of the controllers has been defined with regard to the self-tuning function. On the basis of the caracterization of the process in open loop, a suitable structure of the controller is recommended. Finally, the first evaluation results of an adaptive commercial controller are presented by means of the process of temperature control; these will soon be increased to cover other process and controllers for suitable comparison and analysis.
