ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT: REFLECTIONS ON ORGANISATIONAL CHALLENGES THAT HINDER THEIR GROWTH
Abstract The main objective of this study was to identify organizational factors that hinder the growth of entrepreneurs.
In order to achieve this objective, we developed a survey instrument and data was gathered by sampling entrepreneurs in Solwezi town in Nigeria. Therefore we found that most of the entrepreneurs were already established having been in existence for over three and half years. The major challenges which they were facing (and contributing to their stagnation) were lack of capital, inaccessibility to credit, and lack of appropriate infrastructure, lack of market information and connections and difficulties in accessing technology, among others. The study also revealed that educational levels of most of the entrepreneurs had an impact on their growth. Finally we draw conclusion and suggestion for entrepreneurs, researchers and policy makers.
