COMPARISON OF VIRTUAL/CONVENTIONAL TEACHING AND LEARNING MORE AMONGST SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
ABSTRACT
The importance of using technologies such as virtual teaching and learning in secondary schools cannot be over-emphasized. Researchers have measured the effectiveness of virtual teaching and learning in secondary schools
Considering the lack of research on the effectiveness of virtual teaching and learning in secondary schools in Nigeria, there exists an improvement of virtually aided education and the productivity in secondary education atmosphere regarding the use of virtual teaching and learning. This study, therefore, aims to compare the effects of two methods of teaching (virtual versus conventional teaching and learning) on secondary school students learning.
This work gives a comparison of virtual/conventional teaching and learning more amongst secondary school students
.A hundred and twenty questionnaires were distributed among students and teachers from selected secondary schools in Nigeria. Interviews and surveys were also conducted.
Primary and secondary data will be used in the analysis. Tables and percentages will also be used as the instrument of analysis
It will be observed therefore that virtual teaching and learning methods can make lesson planning easier and less time consuming. The use of virtual materials have a strong and significant positive impact in lesson planning, the impact far exceeds that of conventional methods of teaching and learning in secondary schools.
